A key component of my day job is helping to plan, manage and develop content for the University of Leeds website.

This involves writing content including headlines to tight deadlines, choosing and editing all the images on the site, drafting micro-copy and calls to action. It's a fun and very challenging role with no two days alike.

As the homepage gets around 15K unique visitors every day it's fair to say there is a substantial global readership. As a result of this high standards of accuracy and clarity are essential. If we do make a mistake our audience is never shy of letting us know!

Recent forays into social media via the Twitter feed I manage have been very successful, and helped us build a two-way dialogue with visitors to help push things forwards.
